CN Law is headquartered in Orange County (Huntington Beach as of 2021) but services bankruptcy clients throughout Southern California. We want to highlight this fact for people in other cities, wondering if we can help. We definitely can.
While most of our clients live in and around Orange County, we actively handle bankruptcy cases in San Diego, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Los Angeles counties. This was true even before the pandemic. Orange County has the unique advantage of being rather central to all of the other big Southern California counties. This means that a physical court appearance for our attorney is never more than a 2 hour drive. As long as these things occur infrequently, which in bankruptcy cases they do, it is not a problem.
As a side note: for DIVORCE cases, we service only Los Angeles, Orange, and Riverside/Inland Empire counties.
A 5-minute drive is more convenient for our attorney(s) than a 2-hour drive, to say the least– but we can and will handle cases within a reasonable distance from our home office.
Post-covid world, this is even more the case, that we are willing to take clients who are physically far from our headquarters. Rules have changed so that physical interaction is not as necessary as it was pre-Covid. Only in the rarest of instances does the court demand a physical appearance. In those cases, we go!
Most people prefer being physically close to their attorney and this has made sense for most of history. The fax machine, then the internet changed things. Recent technologies combined with unprecedented events (pandemic, extended social isolation) also led to a relaxation of laws regarding physically having to “attend court.”
The bankruptcy side has benefited tremendously. Pre-covid, there were a lot of in-person appearances. Post-covid, a “zoom meeting” now suffices for an “appearance.” This is great for our clients as it saves them, and everyone involved, a lot of time.
We hope this continues but recognize that things may also revert back to the way they were. This is the main reason why we do not go full speed and open up offices in the other cities. Because laws may change overnight and that can severely impact the way our law firm does business.
Right now, even the majority of Orange County bankruptcy court “appearances” are held via Zoom meetings.

At the time of this writing, we have one office in Orange County. We are carefully considering satellite offices in the other counties, to make it easier for our clients to visit us. What we are finding now is that most clients also prefer the digital zoom meetings.
The main reason is that we consider all of Southern California our market area as far as bankruptcy goes. Until the laws change, it is very easy for us to handle your case if you live within driving distance.
The next reason is that bankruptcy laws are consistent from county to county, since it is something largely regulated on the federal level. There are differences in the way one courthouse handles a case versus another, but these are details for us (your attorney) to handle.
Finally, CN Law utilizes all the technology at our fingertips to make our clients’ lives easier. For example, we use digital signatures so you never have to print anything out on your end.
What this really means is that CN Law can treat you like our next-door-neighbor, even if you do not reside nearby. Long story short, this article is cheaper to write than opening an office in every single California county.
*Special note regarding clients with disabilities and special needs: we make accommodations as best we can to meet you at your convenience. Please do not hesitate to contact us.
